Corlius leads trekking expeditions, 4x4 overlanding tours, backpacking and kloofing trips in remote wilderness areas under a variety of extreme conditions and climates.

He has dedicated his life to exploring and travel the globe -  First  through his position as vice chairman of Exploration , the University of Pretoria hiking club; and then through his position as hiking chairman of the Magaliesberg section of the Mountain Club of South Africa.   He has travelled - alone or with groups - in 28 countries in Africa, Europe, North America and Asia. He has led wilderness, overland and mountaineering trips in Southern Africa since 1985.

Corlius registered as a SATOUR (South African Tourism Board) tour leader in 1990.




Corlius has obtained three degrees - in liberal arts, photography and film making - from universities in the USA and South Africa.

He worked as freelance photographer, independent film maker  and film crew member on major international co-productions. 
He wrote/directed/shot 17 short and longer films and documentaries, directed a theatre play and also exhibited in eight fine arts exhibitions.

Since 1982 Corlius has been interviewed and appeared on TV, radio, newspapers and magazines where his opinions on culture, art, technology and nature were requested.  He has always been interested in combining contemporary knowledge and technology with finding ancient ways of living a more meaningful life.
