There are two main kinds of backpacking or hiking experiences:
Self-sufficient backpacking - You carry everything you need for the wilderness experience. That includes backpack, tent, clothes, cooking gear and food.
Slackpacking – Porters carry most of the above-mentioned stuff. You carry a daypack of up to 6kg with rain/cold gear, water bottle, camera and snacks.
We specialize in self-sufficient trips. We feel this is how you experience the greatest sense of immersion, satisfaction and achievement.
We have led numerous backpacking trips in Southern Africa since 1985. That includes the whole spectrum from marked hiking trails with overnight huts to rugged wilderness areas with no paths or trails in remote areas.
